Albert Jacob "AJ" "Spoonman" McCreight

April 11,1967 - February 12, 2025

It is with great sorrow that the family of AJ announces his passing on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Heart Institute in Ottawa, Ont., in his 58th year.

Loving father of Joshua Dorrance and grandfather to Eli and Snow Dorrance of Edmonton, Alberta. 

Beloved dear brother and best friend of Juanita Cadreau of Carleton Place, Ontario. Brother of Tammy McCreight of London, Ontario, Debbie Duguay of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and Evelyn (Ron) Lalonde of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Son of the late Ivan and Shirley McCreight of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Brother of the late Sandy Larche of Carleton Place, Ontario and the late Ivan McCreight Jr. of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Uncle Al is loved by many nieces and nephews whom he cherished dearly. He will be greatly missed by his nephew Michael Cadreau who was like a brother to him. Many of his days were spent with Michael watching hockey, fishing, going to the beach, and having pints.

He will be missed by his long-time friend Michael Townend.

AJ was an outgoing social butterfly. He was well liked in the community of Carleton Place and loved to entertain his friends by playing the spoons. He was a true blue Toronto Maple Leafs fan and never missed a game.

Memorial Visitation will be held at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, Ont. on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 5 to 8 pm.
