Alfred Emanuel Lauder

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved, Alfred E. Lauder, also known as Skip or The Skipper, July 23, 2024, at the tender age of 79, he would have been 80, August 3, 2024.

He was a devoted father to Greg (Danitsa) and Alistair Lauder, a loving grandfather (Grapes) to Xavier Lauder, Amari McGraw and Zeraïyah Lauder, his adoptive grandchildren, Kiannah Jean- Louis, Khiyon Jean-Louis, Orlando Furman-Vilchez, Kiara Furman-Vilchez, Santiago Furman-Vilchez and Kariyah Furman-Vilchez, not to forget a loving friend to so many. Skip will also be remembered by his remaining siblings along with his numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Jamaica, he made his way to Canada where he worked hard as a transport truck driver, before a car accident changed his direction. Skip loved people and he channeled that love in so many ways, through hosting a radio show on G98.7FM, The Way We Groove, every Sunday morning, he got a chance to affect people through music, words of encouragement and laughter.

Skipper had a deep appreciation for good music, he was part of his Toronto West church choir for many years, where he got to worship and praise his Heavenly Father on Sabbath mornings, something he looked forward to each week.

The Celebration of Life for Alfred, will be held at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home and Chapel, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, Ontario, August 2, 2024 at 10:30 am. Streaming via YouTube will also be available. To view the service go to YouTube and search for "BarkerFH Alfred Lauder".

Donations can be sent to Still Kickin' Ltd., a nonprofit organization seeking to assist those in need in Jamaica, a place that was near and dear to Skip’s heart.
