ALMA CONSTANCE CAHILL (nee Drake)

1923-2025

Peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, Ontario on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Born in Epsom, Surrey England on December 8, 1923. She was pre-deceased in 1969 by her husband Harold Joseph Cahill. Alma was the dearly loved mother of Sharon Mousseau (late Gary) and Cheryl Glassford (Murray).

Alma was the grandmother of Scott Mousseau (Laurie), Lisa Lappi (Mike), Kerri Henman (Paul), Tom Cahill and Megan Ramsey and great-grandmother to Ryan Mousseau, Kathleen Mousseau, Rebecca Lappi, Clara Couch, Sarah Lappi, Lydia Cahill, Michael Lappi , and Sophie Ramsey.

Alma was a telephone operator in London, England during WWII and often told stories of working while bombs were falling nearby.

The youngest of 10 siblings, she bravely left home to emigrate to Canada as a young and pregnant war bride, not knowing what lay ahead. That incredible strength was evident throughout her entire life right until she passed.

The family would like to thank the Village of Erin Meadows long term care home for the excellent care provided to her over the years and the caring doctors and nurses at Credit Valley Hospital.

She will be dearly missed.

Alma has been cremated and her ashes will be scattered in England at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, Carleton Place.
