Alvin Donald Herron

Dad passed peacefully on January 4th, 2026 at the age of 87.

Born in Carleton Place in 1938.  Son of James and Sarah Herron, predeceased by his loving wife Lynn (Mom), with whom he shared 24 wonderful years of marriage. Leaves behind Jane (Christian Schoenwandt), grandchildren Marta and Jon, Chris (deceased) (Vicki McFarlane), grandchildren Josh and Ben, Collin (Nyree-Dawn), grandchildren Mitchell and Shane, Derek (Heather). grandchildren Brady and Brandon, a growing family with the grandchildren’s partners and 6 great grandchildren.

Dad loved spending time with family, throughout his years he enjoyed darts, pool, fastball, camping, golf, east coast visits, home cooked turkey dinners, raisin pies, Bluejays and Ottawa Senators.

The family will forever have his stories and quick wits in their memories.

He will be laid to rest beside Mom in St James Cemetery.

There will be no formal funeral service, but a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 23rd from 14:00 to 17:00 at the Carleton Place Legion.
