Ann Theresa Doré
June 16, 1944 – March 8, 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family of Ann Theresa Doré (née Doyle) announces her passing on Sunday, March 8, 2026 in her 82nd year. She died in quiet dignity with her family care-givers by her side, easing her way with their boundless love and support.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Ray Doré, her parents James and Loretta Doyle, her brother Pat, her sisters Mary Boutilier and Joan Taylor as well as several extended family members. She is survived by her sister Rita Reid and her son Michael.
Ann’s greatest gift and her biggest joy was bringing people together whether family, friends, or both. It was an art she excelled at. She was quick to make people laugh, apt at putting them at ease, and so easy to talk to about “anything”. Her door whether at her home in Metcalfe, at the cottage on Dalhousie Lake, or in her room at Orchard View Gardens was always open. Her laughter, wit, warmth, and hospitality touched many lives, particularly her Metcalfe family who refer to her as “Mother Doré”. All of you, in return, made her life that much richer.
Ann’s final years were marked by significant health challenges, but the quality of her life was made better due to the care and compassion she received from the staff at Orchard View Gardens in Almonte. Our heartfelt thanks! Ann’s family would like to extend our thanks to her many friends who took time to visit these past three years. It meant the world! In particular, Ila and Linda for their eagerly awaited monthly visits complete with butter tarts.
Cremation has taken place. An Interment and a Celebration of Life will occur at a future date. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital.
