Ann Price (née Tadd) passed away peacefully at home with her daughters by her side, in Carleton Place, on December 17, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Ron. Despite a battle with cancer, Ann kept her practicality and sense of humour to the very end. She was a proud and loving mother to Linda and Helen, grandmother to Owain (Cecilia), Clare (Shalom) and Naomi, and great-grandmother to Mila and Kai. Ann’s sister, Elizabeth, and family, were a constant source of support.
Ann immigrated to Canada from Great Britain with her young family in 1963, settling first in Ottawa, then moving to Carleton Place in 1978. She was co-owner and administrator of the ballet school, National Capital Dance Educators, Rideau Street, Ottawa. Ann was a skilled seamstress and costumer who, in her retirement, contributed to the Mississippi Mudds’ performances. Her vibrant, handmade quilts grace all of her family members’ beds.
Many thanks to the caregivers who eased Ann’s final years, and the friends who enriched her life and kept her smiling to the end.
Cheers, Ann! You will be sorely missed.
A visitation will be held at Barker Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 12 - 2 p.m.
