Anne Pequegnat Obituary

Anne Marilyn Pequegnat

It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of Anne Marilyn Pequegnat on July 22, 2025. Anne passed away peacefully at Stonehaven Retirement Residence at 8:30 am Tuesday morning after a long and courageous battle with heart disease in her 94th year.

Anne was predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years Paul Eugene and her first born daughter Susan Anne. She was also predeceased by her devoted brother John E. Schneider who passed away in his 90th year in January'2024. Anne is survived by her daughter Judith Anne (Bob Jess), her son Steven Paul (Elisabete Rolla), her granddaughter Jordyn Alexis, and her cherished sister Ruth Katherine Turner. She was loved by many nieces and nephews in the Turner, Schneider and Pequegnat families.

Anne spent most of her career working for the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority. She enjoyed staying active in the ladies bridge community both organizing and hosting weekly gatherings. Pre-covid she was a long term volunteer at the Manotick Library as well as serving as a hostess at the Miller's Oven, a local Manotick eatery.

She was an avid gardener and always proud to show her accomplishments with her plantings especially the struggling ones that she nurtured back to life. She was eager to help her neighbors and to share her expertise.

The family would like to extend a heart felt thank-you to the staff at Stonehaven Retirement Residence for their kindness and support. In a very short period of time Anne was made to feel quite at home at Stonehaven and we are forever grateful for this. We would also like to extend a great deal of gratitude and appreciation to the nursing staff at Stonehaven for their love, kindness and unwavering support during Anne's final days.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Courtney Westerlaken of Manotick Medical Centre for the many years of outstanding care she provided as Anne's family physician.

A very special heart felt thank-you goes out to Pastor Luis Gomez of Ottawa Community Church for his prayers, kindness, support and love through this most difficult time for the family.

According to Anne's wishes, we will not be holding a public ceremony but instead ask people to please reflect on the ways that Anne has touched your lives during the many years that she lived a very full life in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ottawa, Manotick for many years and in Kanata for a short period towards the end of her life.

In lieu of flowers, may we suggest that you make an "In Memoriam" donation in Anne's name to the Ottawa Community Church which will allow the church to positively impact more lives in the Ottawa area with their amazing work. A donation can be made through an email eTransfer by sending your donation to "ottawacchurch@outlook.com" and including in the subject line "In Memoriam for Anne Pequegnat".
