It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Brenda Edkins on Thursday, March 21, 2024 after a three and half year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the darling companion for 37 years of Wayne Nield and previously married and divorced to Maurice Edkins, father of their two girls. She was the devoted mother to Rochelle Walters (Mark) and Justine Cain (Jason). Adoring grandmother to Leighton, Aislinn, Braedon, Madison and Avery; caring sister to Linda, Peter, Alan, Kathleen, Jeanetta and Angela. She was predeceased by her mother Kathleen, father Alan Guest and sister Kathleen.

Brenda worked at Leigh Instruments Carleton Place and finished her career as Executive Assistant to the President and Chief Executive Officer at Canadian Bank Note. She loved working in her garden, spending quality time with her family and visiting her siblings in Coventry England.

A special thanks goes out to the staff at the Civic Hospital and in particular the caring nursing staff at West End Villa (Civic) where she spent her last days.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
