Bruce David Anderson
On January 31, 2024, at the age of 72, in Carleton Place. Born in Montreal January 26, 1952, eldest of the late Francis David Anderson and the late Robina Maud Tillier. Brother to Robert (Linda Hillier) and Janet (Kurt Halliday). Lovingly remembered by Sean Moylan (Rosaly) and Donald Anderson. Doting uncle to Ross, Samantha, Samuel, Haley, Daniel and Rose.
Growing up in Ottawa, Bruce was active in many sports, the West End Y and Scouting, developing a strong love of the outdoors. In the 1970s, he was able to hitch a ride on the IT wave eventually developing a career with the federal government working primarily with Customs and Border Services and the Canada Revenue Agency and was awarded for his innovations.
A person of many talents, Bruce painted, photographed and figured stuff out. He was very proud of the home he built near Almonte, doing much of the finishing work himself. Bruce loved jokes and made sure as many folks as possible across the country had a chance to laugh/groan along with him. He was an avid animal lover and his large happy dogs were always at his side and drove everywhere with him around Lanark.
Many thanks to the staff and residents of The Waterside, Carleton Place for their compassion and support.
A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in his name to the Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation or the Lanark Animal Welfare Society.
