Bryane William McGonegal
April 4, 1953 – February 25, 2025
Peacefully at Lanark Lodge in Perth, ON on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 in his 72nd year. Predeceased by his parents Hazel (Moss) and Lester McGonegal, his brothers Cecil, John, Kenneth and Carl. Loving partner of 51 years to Linda Somerville. Loved father of Michael & Stephanie, Scott & Lisa. Cherished grandfather of Hunter, Braydon, Cherish, Liam and Kamdyn. Loving brother to Charlotte “Sally” (late Garnet Brown) and Calvin (Joy) McGonegal. Brother-in-law to Sharon McGonegal, Penny McGonegal and Joyce Moss, Pam Somerville (late Allan), Gordon (Pat) Williams, late Bryan Somerville, late Marjorie (Gordon) Williams, late Brenda (John) Murray. Special cousin to Eldon (Sharon) Moss and Gary (Linda) McGonegal. Bryane will be missed by his nieces and nephews and many special dedicated friends.
Bryane’s love for hunting and fishing has taken him many places and met many great people in Canada and the USA, The Smith Family and the Moore Family. Bryane will be missed by his hunting buddies who have helped over the last 3 years since his stroke to help him continue his love of the outdoors. Bryane has been the owner of Perth Live Bait for the last 40 years. Coaching minor hockey was his other love, helping young players achieve their goals.
We would like to thank the nurses of the Perth Hospital and Lanark Lodge for their love, devotion and care over the last 6 months.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 23, 2025 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Lanark & District Civitan Hall, Lanark, ON.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Perth/Lanark Minor Hockey Association would be appreciated by the family.
