Carmel Sadie Wakeling (nee King) 

1947-2024

Carmel passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family and friends on Wednesday February 21, 2024, in her 76th year. She is predeceased by her parents Albert and Myrtle King, her husband Donald Wakeling, and her brother Billy King. She will be dearly missed by her loving son Darcy (Allison) Wakeling and cherished grandchildren Madelyn and Vaughan. She will also be fondly remembered and loved by her sisters Erma (Bill) Pretty and Adelene (Jim) McCord, her brother Steven as well as her many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Carmel will also be deeply missed by her special girlfriends and many others whose lives she touched. 

Thank you to the staff of Bayshore Health Care and Home and Community Care Palliative Care Team for their exceptional service, dedication, and support. 

In accordance with Carmel’s wishes there will be a private interment at Guthrie Cemetery in Clayton and a celebration of life in the Spring of 2024. If desired, donations can be made to CHEO in Carmel’s honor.
