Carol Sue Farr
1938 - 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Carol Sue Farr (nee Summers) at Deep River Hospital with family by her side on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the age of 87 (of Deep River, formerly Carleton Place).
Carol was predeceased by her husband Ivan Anthony Farr in 1994. Carol is survived by her four children Donna (Paul), Kim (Guy), Darryl, and Jason. She was predeceased by her son Shawn in 1990.
Loving grandmother to Brittiny, Jessy, Craig, Jarrid, Carley, Nathan, Jonathan, and step-grandmother to Jessica, and Jason. Predeceased by granddaughter Tayler Turcotte in 2002 and grandson Shawn Grenier in 2020. Carol was also blessed with six great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Carol, the youngest of nine children, was born in Odgensburg, New York, and raised in Ottawa during the Second World War. Her father joined the war in England when she was an infant and returned when she was seven years old. Being raised in this era helped her to become the amazing mother she was. It was her kindness, strength, and resilience that helped her to navigate raising five children as a single parent, which left an indelible loving and respectful impression in our hearts.
Carol was a sports enthusiast, and she watched everything from baseball to curling. Her favourite teams were the Toronto Blue Jays and the Ottawa Senators. She often wore her Blue Jays hat with pride.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses, the palliative team, as well as Bayshore and Paramed for the kind and compassionate care our mother received.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be a graveside service held on Saturday, Augusily.t 9, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. for immediate fam
In memory of Carol, donations to the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family.
