Cathy (Catherine) Barrie

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Catherine (Cathy) Barrie on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the age of 61. After a courageous battle with cancer she passed peacefully late in the evening with her daughter, Samantha, by her side.

Cathy was born February 16, 1963 in Ottawa, Ontario to the late Vincent and Claudette McCullough (nee Brind'Amour). She is survived by her loving husband Paul, daughters Samantha (Edward) McLellan and Hannah Barrie, and brothers Roger (Laura) and Steve (Pauline) McCullough. Cathy was a sister-in-law to Shirley (Barry) Armstrong, Doug Barrie, Diana (Norm) Dobbie and Brian (Jean - deceased) Barrie. Her many nieces and nephews, their spouses, and children will miss her immensely. 

Cathy's brightest days in the last year were spent enjoying her granddaughter, Kenzie, who was born shortly after she was diagnosed. Though their time making memories together on earth was short, Nana filled Kenzie to the brim with enough love for a lifetime and will always be looking over her from the other side. Cathy also treasured her dear fur grandbaby, Cash.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday,  April 6 from 1p.m. to 5p.m. at the Carleton Place arena upstairs in the small hall, 75 Neelin Street, Carleton Place.

We are incredibly grateful for the compassionate PSWs, nurses and doctors from the Rosamond Unit at the Almonte Hospital who cared so well for Cathy.

Grief can only exist because we were lucky enough to love so deeply.
