Christa Heitmann Obituary

Christa Margrit Heitmann (Bornemann)
July 18, 1940 – Jan 22, 2025
Retired

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christa on January 22, 2025 after lengthy stay in hospital with family by her side.

Christa was predeceased by her husband Martin, her parents Käthe and Friedrich (Fritz) Borneman, as well as her sister Annemarie Reimchen (Christian). She will be greatly missed by her children, Torsten Karlheinz Dekart (Sharon) and Kerstin Annemarie Dekart (Michael Noonan) and four granddaughters of whom she was so very proud: Alexandra (Alex) Brooke Noonan, Johanne Martine Dekart, Arielle Samantha Noonan and Samantha Lee Dekart as well as her nephews  Frank Reimchen (Gine), Detlef Reimchen (Claudia) and her great nephew Sören and great niece Mareike.

Christa came to Canada from her birthplace Germany in 1974 and made a home for herself and her family in the Carleton Place area. Not speaking a word of English made the early days difficult but she persevered, learned English and looked for a career and made lots of wonderful friends along the way.

Christa’s wishes for a private family farewell.

It would make her smile to know you made a donation to Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation.
