Christopher "Chris" Nicholls Obituary

Christopher “Chris” Gary Nicholls

(May 10 1979 – Aug 11 2025)

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Christopher “Chris” Gary Nicholls on Aug 11 2025.

Chris is survived by his loving wife Kelly (Barr) and children Colby, Miley, Easton and stepchildren Hannah and Emily. Also survived by his parents Tom and Kelly Nicholls (nee Hetu), and his 3 sisters Kayla Ramond, Stephanie Nicholls, and Melissa Nicholls. Predeceased by his cherished grandmother Ashton.

Born May 10 1979 in Peterborough and grew up in Mink Lake. Chris developed a love for the outdoors which led him to a life as an arborist. Chris worked for many years with Hydro One. Chris throughout his life was a member of several volunteer fire departments. Chris will also be fondly remembered by his friends and trailer park neighbors for his BBQing, outdoor cooking and his maple syrup production.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation to be held at the Barker Funeral Home & Chapel at 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, Ontario on Saturday August 16 between 2 – 4 PM.

When I get where I am going
There’ll only be happy tears
I will shed the sins and struggles
I have carried all these years
And I will leave my heart wide open
I will love and have no fear
When I get where I’m going
Don’t cry for me down here.
