Clifford Tubman Obituary

Clifford Ennis Tubman, known lovingly as “Whipper”, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the age of 85.  He is survived by his wife, Donnalda, his sons, Derek (Stephanie) and Duane, his grandchildren, Kelvin (Kayla), Braiton, and Cole, his great grandchild McKinley, and many loved ones, James (Lorrie), Nathan (Katterina), Erica (Ryan), Corey (Lulu), Paisley, Noah, and Rose.  Born in Shawville, QC, Cliff was a brother to Neil (Nancy), and predeceased by his parents Ennis and Lillian, and brothers Darrell (Diane), Lorn (Regina), and Ben (Sue).

Cliff was a plumber his entire career, in Sudbury and the Ottawa Valley.  He was very proud to have had both of his sons and two of his grandsons, follow in his footsteps. Family meals always included a healthy dose of shared wisdom, experience, gossip, and laughs, around the dinner table. He loved hockey, having played well into old age.  He could often be found watching the Toronto Maple Leafs at home, or out with friends boisterously supporting the Ottawa 67’s or the Carleton Place Canadians.  He also frequented local establishments in Carleton Place for good conversation and a hot coffee.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Cliff at Alan R. Barker Funeral Home & Chapel, 19 McArthur Ave, Carleton Place, ON, on Monday February 26, 2024, with visitation from 10:00 a.m.  until 12 noon followed by the Celebration of Life service at 12 noon.  All who knew Cliff are welcomed to attend.

In Lieu of flowers, the Tubman family would appreciate donations in Cliff’s honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
