Dale Thomas Wilson
Dale Thomas Wilson (born April 20, 1946 in Ottawa, Ontario) passed peacefully on July 25, 2024 in Aurora, Ontario to his heavenly home.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years - M. Elaine Wilson (nee Preston), his dear son – Michael (Frances) and his precious grandchildren - Victoria, Claire, Jacob and Camden. Dale also leaves behind his brother – Weldon Wilson (Beverley) and nephews - Scott (Karen) and Ted, brother-in-law – Wayne Preston (Nancy) and dearest friends – Robbie and Susan Robertson. Dale was predeceased by his parents - Sherriff and Ruby Wilson (nee McCoy), his cherished son - Robert, his in-laws - D. Borden and A. Jean Preston (nee Anderson) and his nephews - David Preston and William Preston as well as his aunts and uncles. Dale will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends.
Dale grew up in Carp, Ontario on the family dairy farm. He had many fond memories of his younger years in the local 4H and showing cattle at agricultural fairs. His career with the Ontario Registry Office spanned 32 years beginning as a clerk in Ottawa and ending as the Land Registrar of Lanark County with time in many offices including Perth, Toronto, Alexandria, Kingston, Pembroke and Russel. Dale thoroughly enjoyed the aspects of his work that engaged with members of the legal community and law societies.
Dale loved all things sports and outdoors related and was an avid supporter of his sons’ sports teams.
Dale served actively in his church and was the Rector’s Warden at St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Ottawa for several years. Throughout his life, Dale was also a proud member of many community organizations including Perth Rotary Club, Perth Chamber of Commerce, Loyal Orange Lodge #55, Ottawa and Perth Masonic Lodges and George Lake Hunt Camp.
In recent years, Dale enjoyed retirement at his lakefront home near Carleton Place, Ontario and spending winters with friends in Zephyrhills, Florida.
A graveside service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church (325 Sandhill Road, Kanata, Ontario) on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 1:00pm.
