Daphne Marston

Daphne Marston (née Griffith)

 Died January 1, 2022 at her home, Waterside Retirement Community, with her family by her side. Daphne was predeceased by her husband Harry in 2015. She is survived by her daughter Gillian Marston (Suzanne Deschênes); son Tony Marston; and granddaughter Geneviève Marston Scott (Eric Scott). Daphne was an avid naturalist who found something of interest on every walk in the woods. Her first interest was birdwatching which she came to love after a move to a house on the Ottawa River when Harry retired. After moving to a wooded property in Beckwith Township in 1989 she expanded her interests to wildflowers, mushrooms, butterflies and even moths. She was an accomplished seamstress, loved reading and doing puzzles. In 2015 she moved to Waterside Retirement Community where she made good friends and loved many of the activities and outings.  The family wish to thank the staff at Waterside and the Wellness Team in particular who were an invaluable support to Daphne. Private arrangements have been entrusted to Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, Carleton Place. Donations in memory of Daphne to the Nature Conservancy of Canada www.natureconservancy.ca would be appreciated by the family.
