David Austin Boadway
June 25, 1942– January 18, 2024
David Austin Boadway born in Orillia, Ontario passed away on January 18, 2024, aged 81 in Carleton Place, Ontario.
Son of Ida and Austin. Beloved Husband of Lucille. Loving father of Beverley (Mike) and Angela (Kenton). Grampie to Nicholas (Shauna), Andrew (Ashley), Cassandra (Josh), Chelsea (Craig). Great-Grampie to Owen, Lily, Alexis and Abigail, Lydia and Riley, Kieran and Ripley, and Iris.
David served in the military, retiring as a sergeant. During his 33 year military career, he was a peace keeper overseas, he was stationed throughout the world in places such as Egypt, Whitehorse, Alert (Nunavut), Germany, Bermuda, Vancouver Island.
He continued working as a Commissionaire at Dwyer Hill for 23 years, retiring at 80.
David and his wife Lucille loved to travel; they went on numerous cruises all over the world. He was an avid curler, winning many awards. He loved watching the weather so much, he should have been a weatherman.
His kind and caring nature were some of his best characteristics. He loved his family, and he was a dear friend to have. He was an epic scrabble and domino player. Winning against his family and friends gave him great joy.
He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Family and friends may visit at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral mass to take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. 28 Hawthorne Avenue, Carleton Place on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow in the church hall.
The mass will be livestreamed on the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carleton Place Facebook page.
