David Gordon Boughner
May 7, 1954 – May 31, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Gordon Boughner. David was the dearly loved father of Eric Boughner and Jacquelyn Bell. He will be deeply missed by his brother Richard (Wilma), and sisters Linda Woollcombe and Margo Butterworth. He was predeceased by his parents, J. Gordon and Florence Edna Boughner, and by his brothers John and Arnold.
Born in Carleton Place, Ontario, David was actively involved in the Marching Saints Drum Corps as both a drummer and an instructor—a passion that shaped his early life. He attended Almonte District High School.
In his 30s and 40s, David became a dedicated runner, participating in numerous races and marathons. His adventurous spirit and love of travel led him on many road trips across Canada and the United States.
Professionally, David had a successful career in Kanata’s high-tech sector. He began with Digital Equipment in the early 1980s and continued to work in a variety of computer-based industries throughout his career.
In accordance with David’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
