It is with great sadness to announce the passing of David John Smith age 77, on October 7, 2024 of stomach cancer at Almonte General Hospital.
He is survived by his loving wife Gayla Smith. Sincere thank you to the Thoracic surgery, Oncology care team at the Ottawa Queensway Carleton Hospital. David was later transferred to the Almonte General Hospital for ongoing medical care. A heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses on M&S and the Rosemond Wing for their empathy, professionalism and quality service and care they provided for David. Special thank you to Father Emeka Adibe of Almonte St Mary’s Church and to David’s friends, Tony Hickey, Gary/Suzanne Coulas, John Montgomery, that on many occasions visited him at his bedside.
