It is with our deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Don Dagenais.
He leaves to mourn, wife and best friend of 42 years, Valerie (Thompson). Loving father of Deanna Dagenais, Teena Dowd (Barry), and step-father to Stacy Howie and Andy Dolan. Best Papa ever to Brenden, Justin, Kyra, Liam, Alex, Alissa, Aidan and Jordan. Predeceased by sister Doris Vezina and brother Garry Dagenais. He will be missed by many family and friends.
Don worked at Budd Canada for 30 years where he gave much time to the Union, Recreation Committee, the United Way Campaign, the Adopt a Family to name just a few. He was also heavily involved in Ringette for many years. Don spent his life volunteering and fund raising for every cause that needed him. He was awarded a Prime Minister volunteer award from then PM Brian Mulroney.
Don planned his own Celebration of Life for Saturday with our children and grandchildren with a plan to pass away on Sunday. He did just that.
Forty two years was certainly not long enough but I am so lucky he spent those years with me.
