Dorothy Margaret Tombs (Robertson)
August 26, 1931 – July 30, 2022
It is with heavy hearts, the family of Dorothy Margaret Tombs (Robertson) announce her passing, peacefully with her daughters at her side, at the Ottawa General Hospital on Saturday, July 30th at the age of 90.
Maggie was loved and cherished, and will be missed by many, including her best friend and husband of 75 years. John and her daughters Lynn Julian (Jacques Montpetit), Janice Creighton (Steve Hastie), Lori Devlin (Jeff). She was a precious “Nanny” to Jeff (Emilia), Becky (Brent), Derek (Sara), Kate, Sarah (Dennis), Pam (John), her eight great grand-children and one great-great grandson, who will all treasure the many memories they created together. She will be fondly remembered by Terry Julian, Mike Logan, Dan Creighton and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Bessie and Howard Robertson, and siblings Eric Robertson, Lola Baker, and Betty Connolly.
Maggie was born and raised in Ashton, Ontario and moved to Carleton Place in 1960 where they continued to provide a loving home for their family. She was a ray of sunshine that touched everyone she met with kindness and love. She was devoted to her family in which she took much joy and boasted with pride at all their accomplishments. Maggie will be remembered for her infectious laugh, fun sense of humor, her love of animals and gardening, her kind-heartedness and compassion, and enjoying a glass of white wine.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations are made to a charity of your choosing. Visitation is to take place at Alan R. Barker Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 3rd from 7-9 and Thursday, August 4th from 11-12 with a service in the chapel. Interment at United Cemeteries is to take place after the service.
