Douglas MacDonald

Douglas Ronald MacDonald, born October 15, 1932 in Ottawa passed away on August 22, 2024 in Florida . It is with sadness that his family announces the passing of Douglas. Dad will be missed by his wife Hene, his children Douglas, Thomas, Jennifer and David, his grandchildren Catherine, Isabelle, Michael, Emilie, Antoine, and Ben, and also his great grand child Alec.

Doug will be remembered mostly as a home builder in Ottawa. He was also a restaurant and hotel owner operator and built in the United States as well. His interest’s included fishing which he pursued all over the globe. In more recent years, he returned to painting which he enjoyed with a passion.

There will be a graveside service held Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the United Cemeteries in Beckwith Township, 2677 Cemetery Side Road at 11:00 a.m. Following the inurnment, the family invite everyone back to the Alan. R. Barker Funeral Home located at 19 McArthur Avenue in Carleton Place, Ontario from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
