It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edith Currie (nee McGuire) on Wednesday October 22, 2025, at the Almonte General Hospital in her 99th year. Predeceased by her husband Don. Loving mother of Ken (Bev) and Keith (Stella). Grandmother of Jennifer (Derek Morrell), Rob (Maria), Barb (Lindsay MacLean) and Sharon (deceased). Great-grandmother of Drew, Meika, Blair, Kendall and Travis. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Clara McGuire, her brother John and sisters Gladys Hutchinson, Laura Virgin, Ollie Manson, Carmel Napier and Blanche Cox. Edith will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Almonte General Hospital as well as a special thanks to Dr. Rossi.

Friends are invited to pay their respects at Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, ON, on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 3 – 5 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the chapel on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be livestreamed on YouTube, to view the service search YouTube for "Barkerfh Edith Currie". Reception to follow the service. Interment to follow at Guthrie United Church Cemetery in Clayton, ON.
