In Loving Memory of
Elaine Marie Baldry
December 3, 1940 to July 6, 2024
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Elaine Marie Baldry (Rockburne) on July 6, 2024 at the age of 83 with her beloved pet Bling by her side.
She was a loving wife to her husband Gary (d. February 2014), her best friend and childhood sweetheart who she married on October 6, 1961. Elaine was a devoted daughter to Jean (d. August 1984) and Lionel Rockburne (d. July 1977) of Ottawa, Ontario. She was cherished by her many friends and family specifically her Sisters-In-Law, Brothers-In-Law, Cousins, and all of her Nieces and Nephews.
In her younger years she worked for Public Service Canada before retiring in 1978. After retirement she enjoyed caring for her beloved husband Gary and her many adored poodles. She enjoyed many family activities, including Christmas in July, summers spent at Charleston Lake, winters in Melbourne Beach, Florida where they made many lifelong friendships. Elaine had a passion for knitting. She loved making sweaters for her nieces and nephews and also made mittens to keep children’s hands warm in the winter which she donated to schools and daycares in the community.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Graveside Service for Elaine on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Ramsayville Cemetery (Ramsayville Road, Ottawa, Ontario). Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to join us for light refreshments and snacks at the Top Generation Club (4373 Generation Court, Ottawa).
In lieu of flowers the family would welcome a donation in Elaine's memory to the Cancer Society or a charitable organization of your choice.
Elaine touched the hearts of her many family, friends and neighbours. She will be missed and fondly remembered as Daisy, Tulip and the Adopted Grandma.
