Elisabeth van Galder Obituary

Elisabeth van Galder

1931 - 2025

Elisabeth van Galder (nee Ooijen) was born on April 27, 1931 and passed peacefully on December 20, 2025 at the age of 94 surrounded by the love of her family at the Carleton Place Hospital. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses, doctors, Margarite, Lanark Paramedic Services, and all her personal support workers from Bayshore who took special care of Mom for the past few years. She will now be reunited with her beloved late husband of 50 years, Adrian, as well as her daughter Elizabeth “Betty” Nesseth, son Peter van Galder, and sons-in-law Ervin Monahan, and Bernie Dubé. Elisabeth’s legacy lives on through her children Neil van Galder (Cheryl Green), Audrey Monahan, Mary Ladouceur (Rick), Bert van Galder (Colleen Horne), Corry van Galder, Lucy Compton (John), Rick Nesseth (Jen), Adrian van Galder (Jun), Nancy Williamson (Garnet), and Paul van Galder (Merrianne Couture). She is survived by her sister Adrie Kuijpers-Ooijen (Jans), and brother Leo Ooijen- van Run (Ria), as well as her sister-in-law Lucy Hendriks and brother-in-law Kees van Galder. She cherished deeply her 23 grandchildren, as well as her beloved 29 great-grandchildren. She is deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family in Canada and the Netherlands, and her dear friends.
