Florence Minnie Russell
September 26, 1932 – April 17, 2023
Florence Minnie Russell (nee Lay) passed peacefully in her 91st year at Smiths Falls Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer, with family by her side. Florence was predeceased by her husband, Robert Clifford Russell, brothers, Donnie and Ken Lay, sisters, Helen Wilson and Irene Currie and parents, Albert and Dorothy Lay. Florence is survived by her sons, Robert (Joan-deceased), Bill (Lynne), Tim, Alan (Candy) and daughter, Cindy (Tim) as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Florence was a proud sister member of the Orange Lodge until her health declined. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her and she will be thought of often.
Friends may call at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11 a.m., at United Cemeteries, Carleton Place.
