Daniel 'Garry' Uniacke

Peacefully at the Great War Memorial hospital in Perth on Wednesday November 8th, 2023, in his 82nd year surrounded by family and friends.

Garry was the beloved husband of Mary Anne (Thompson), cherished father to Conrad (Kathy), Brett (Sandra) and Michael (Kristina). Brother to Gord (Jane Anne), Linda (Dave Armstrong) and Sharon (Doug Holmes). Papa to Kaitlyn, Cassandra, Jillian, Cole, Tyler and Tamara. Special friend to Brian & Joy Franks and Poppa to Harrison. Predeceased by his parents Ted & Mary (Becker), and brother Brian. Garry will be missed by his nieces and nephews, neighbours and friends.

Garry was born in Toronto, raised in Marmora and lived in Smiths Falls. He had many jobs and hobbies from miner, RCN airframe mechanic, truck driver, parts manager, swimming instructor, fishing guide, wood working, golfing, bowling, and he was a founding member of the Timmy’s DP Club.  Most importantly, Garry was an exceptional husband, father, brother and friend.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Church, in Smiths Falls, on Saturday November 18th at 11 am.   Luncheon to follow downstairs at The Royal Canadian Legion, Br 95, located at 7 Main St. E in Smiths Falls.     In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PSFDH Foundation.  A private internment will be held at a later date.
