In Loving Memory of Gary Alan Pinkerton

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)

Gary Alan Pinkerton, in his 72nd year, of Carleton Place, Ontario, was embraced into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 6, 2026, leaving his loving wife Donna Pinkerton (Button), daughter Sarah Lancaster (Pinkerton), and son-in-law Tim Lancaster by his side.

Gary was born and raised in Terrace Bay, Ontario to Garnet and Jean Pinkerton on October 18, 1954, middle brother of Lorne (Judy and family) and David Pinkerton. After moving to Ottawa for college, he soon met the love of his life in November 1975, married August 12, 1978, moved to Carleton Place in March 1979 on Pattie Drive, and then welcomed their baby girl, Sarah, on January 18, 1985.

Over the years, Gary was active in the community with his Dad’s Watercraft Rentals, curling, driving seniors, tutoring, and hosting international students. He attended Calvary Pentecostal Church since 1982, served in various ministries and mission trips to Grenada over the 44 years, and was known as Mr. P. He worked in the IT industry until 2008 then retired due to muscular dystrophy. However, this did not stop him from enjoying the rest of his life with a positive perspective.

As an honorary Newfoundlander, Gary loved visiting Donna’s family and exploring her home province. He was blessed to have travelled through all ten Canadian Provinces, a third of the US states, and his beloved Grenada islands six times.

Gary showed constant love and devotion to his wife, Donna of 50 years and daughter, Sarah as an amazing Godly husband and father. His family and friends knew him through his social and infectious personality, a loyal friend to the end. Now, Gary Pinkerton has graduated to Glory, taking his place in Heaven’s ranks as a Pinkerton Detective Agent serving God and figuring out all life’s mysteries.

Thank you to his Personal Support Workers from Bayshore HealthCare and Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital staff for their compassionate care and to all the wonderful family and friends who visited him in his last days.

Please join us for a celebration service at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 7196 County Road 29 in Carleton Place on June 20 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
