George Jackson Obituary

George C. Jackson

July 16, 1940 - March 1, 2025

Passed away peacefully at home at the age of 84 years with family by his side. Husband of Lenore (Cochrane). Loving father of Robert (Keitha) and Wayne. Grandfather of Justin (Emily), Ryan and Melissa. Great grandfather of John. Survived by his sister-in-law Darlene. Predeceased by his brothers Arnold and Howard.

George received his first pacemaker in 1980 and has received 3 more since.  He has had many heart problems and finally passed from Congestive Heart Failure. George worked for 6 ½ years as a Commissionaire which he thoroughly enjoyed and met many good friends. He also enjoyed his work at Boeing Arnprior and as a Union Leader.  George volunteered for Alwood and Crime Stoppers. He helped many people with addictions as well.

George was a special friend to Bill W. for over 50 years. Many thanks go out to the nurses and PSW’s for their help over the past year as we could not have kept him at home without them.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at St. John’s Cemetery in Innisville, ON, followed by a reception at Boyds United Church.  Date and time to be confirmed.

For those who wish, a donation to the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by the family.
