We are sad to announce the passing of Bud MacMillan in his 77th year on Monday May 13, 2024. Loving husband of Lise (Seguin) and proud father to Andrea and Martin Richmond (Marcia). Devoted grandpa and best buddy to Austin (Jessica), Joshua and Kierstin Richmond. Great-grandfather to Magnus Richmond. Brother to June MacMillan. Brother from another mother to Ed Covell (Sharon). Brother-in-law of Robert Seguin (Liette). Proud uncle of Natalie, Julie & Gabrielle Seguin and Shawna and Erin Baxter. Pre-deceased by parents George and Rita MacMillan.
Retired after 35 years from Foreign Affairs Canada. Retired after 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve as RSM 28 Medical Company and RSM of 28 Service Battalion. District Sergeant Major of Ottawa Militia District. Past President of the Ottawa Winter Fair. Vice chair of the Lanark County Rural Expo 2003. Past member of the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation. Active member of Captain A. Roy Brown, Legion Branch 192.
Visitation will be held at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, Ontario, on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel Friday May 17, 2024 at 12 noon.
