Gerry passed away at home in the care of his loving family on Sunday, September 5 at age 72, three years after being diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma.

He will be deeply missed by Sylvia (nee McMillan) his wife of 40 years and two sons Derek (Jody Waugh) and Andrew (Sarah Cameron). He was the proud grandfather of Hayden, Braysen, Kambden, Isaac and Hatlee. Gerry was the cherished son of the late Gordon and Beatrice (nee Northrup) Brown and brother of Pam Faloon of Saint John, New Brunswick. He was raised with and maintained close ties to a number of cousins and his beloved Maritimes (Merry Times). He is survived by his mother-in- law Darlene McMillan and in-laws Brian and Jane McMillan and Dale and Gwen Coleman and their families.

After graduating from the University of New Brunswick, Gerry came to Ontario where he completed his Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University, Kingston and taught first at Perth and District Collegiate Institute and then Almonte and District High School. He obtained a Masters of Education in Counselling and built up the Co-Op program at ADHS. Gerry was active in the Federation of Teachers and negotiating team. When he was nearing retirement from teaching, he qualified as a Financial Planner and built a small part time business. He loved downhill skiing, waterskiing, swimming, skating, walking and cycling and for many years coached soccer.

Gerry and Sylvia enjoyed travels to many countries around the world in retirement.
