Gloria Jean Lockridge

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Gloria Jean Lockridge (MacDonald) of Wingham, ON, peacefully at her residence in Orleans, ON, on Saturday, 13 Nov, 2021.  Devoted wife of Maj (Ret'd) Douglas Alfred Lockridge (pre-deceased) of Wingham, Ontario, Gloria was born 16 January, 1943, to Archibald and Georgina MacDonald (Goy) at Wingham General Hospital, Wingham, ON. Loving mother of Corey (pre-deceased) of Carleton Place, ON, Gloria is survived by her son Andrew and his wife Jennifer Lockridge (Dunn) of Kingston, ON, and her beloved grandchildren, Alexander, Sofia, Gabriela and Claudia, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins residing in Canada and across the United States of America.

Gloria graduated from St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1966.  She practiced until the arrival of their first son, Andrew, in 1970, and decided to remain at home and, with the arrival of Corey in 1974, raise her two boys. A devoted "Army Wife," Gloria kept their home organized whilst travelling the continent from posting to posting, as the Canadian Army saw fit to transfer Doug, until retiring in, Orleans, ON. Later in life, Gloria enjoyed her annual trips to Las Vegas with her brother Gerald and Ruth Smith (Stokes), and her nephew Rick and Faye Smith.
