Gregory Hallahan Obituary

Gregory Clifford Hallahan
June 26, 1961 – June 23, 2024

We are heartbroken to share the sudden passing of Greg Hallahan, peacefully in his home in his 63rd  year. He is painfully missed by his beloved wife and best friend of 35 years, Kim (White), his daughters Kelsey (Daryl), Alexandra (Myles) and his adoring grandson, Bruce, all of whom believe the sun was hung by him.

Greg was truly one of a kind. His most valued treasures were his family, and he spent his life doing everything he could to keep them safe, cared-for and loved. His meticulous attention to detail, careful planning, and quest to ensure that others were having a good time meant that those in his circle never had to worry. Greg selflessly helped all those he loved, using his wide breadth of knowledge and skills to improve the lives of those around him. As a life-long learner, he valued any opportunity to obtain new skills, and discover new things. It felt like any problem could be solved with a quick call to Greg. Physical evidence of his love, wisdom and craftsmanship can be seen in all the homes of his family and close friends. Greg had a successful career in business tech, retiring as the Director of Operations from Med Eng and Safariland in 2016. Those he worked with will attest that Greg cared deeply for his work and his colleagues, demonstrating daily that hard work and encouraging others were the best ways to lead.

He is a beloved brother to Fred (Jennifer), David (Linda), Diane (Gerry) and Cathy (Peter) and brother-in- law to Tracy (Steve) and Leslie, a cherished son-in-law of Charlie and Marilyn White and adored uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Clara Hallahan, and his treasured grandmother, Clara Davies. Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed by those he leaves behind.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday August 10th, 2024 from 1:00 - 5:00pm at the Carleton Place Canoe Club (179 John St, Carleton Place).

In lieu of flowers, donations made in Greg’s name to the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation or Almonte Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

With illusions of someday cast in a golden light – no dress rehearsal. This is our life.
