James "Jim" Groh
1942 - 2024
Jim, born in Cambridge, ON, began his career in banking and dedicated 42 years to the Bank of Montreal. His commitment and work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Upon retiring, Jim found joy in woodworking, painting, and golfing. Above all, he cherished his family, ensuring they were always his top priority. His quick wit, infectious laughter, sharp mental math skills, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marg (née Kloepfer); his three children, Lynne (Paul), Bob (Seonwha), and Brent (Nicole); his six grandchildren, Sean, Kaylee, Sarah, Ellen, Owen, and Jacob; his great-granddaughter Paisley; his brother, Bob, and sister, Janet.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the nurses on the 7th floor at the Ottawa General Hospital for their exceptional care and support during Jim's final days.
Visitation will be held at Alan R. Barker Funeral Home and Chapel in Carleton Place on Saturday, July 13, starting at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society to support critical research.
Jim's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His love, laughter, and dedication will forever be treasured.
