Jeanet Isabel Nye (nee Bouchard)

1928 - 2023

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Jeanet on August 1, 2023, in her 95th year. Jeanet was born August 17th, 1928 in Blind River, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents, Louis and Rose Bouchard, her husband, Bill (William), granddaughter, Carey Lee, sisters, Marie, Evelyn, Theresa and brother Louis (Luke). She is survived by her children, Debby (Dave), Steven (Debbie), grandson, Jeff (Becky), granddaughter, Kelsi, great-grandsons, Owen and Parker, brother, John (Nancy), sister, Helen (Jack) and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Jeanet was devoted to her faith and church, she loved her family and her garden, an accomplished floral arranger and OHA judge, she was a member of the Carleton Place and Beckwith Horticultural Society. A member and gracious volunteer of the CWL for many years. Jeanet loved the outings with the ladies of the Sophisticats, her Tuesday afternoon card games and get-togethers with the St. Mary’s Widows group. Jeanet enjoyed excellent health throughout her life and attributed it to playing her favourite sports, tennis and curling and her daily glass of wine.

The family would like to thank the first responders for their compassionate and gentle care of Jeanet.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 8th at 11 am, St Mary’s Church, 28 Hawthorne Ave, Carleton Place. A reception will follow. Interment will take place on Thursday, August 10th at 1 p.m. in Gravenhurst at the Mickle Memorial Cemetery.
