Joan Ann Garland
October 23, 1935 - January 10, 2026
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joan Ann Garland (nee Dawson).
She will be reunited with the love of her life, Bruce. Dear mother of Trudy (Dave), David (Michelle), and Susan (Stephan). Known lovingly as Nan to her grandchildren: Ben, Evan (Jaime), Ivy, Jake (Taylor). A legacy of love continues through her great-grandchildren; Logan, Hannah, Emma. She is survived by her dear sisters, Helen Mills and Betty Birtch, predeceased by siblings, “Just” Norma and John.
Mom’s hands were never still…crocheting, knitting, stained glass, baking, gourmet meals, gardening, card games, playing the fiddle, giving and receiving, embracing and loving … her hands are now at rest, but a lifetime of creativity and sharing her gifts, leaves an imprint on our hearts forever!
Until we meet again…… life will go on - but will never be the same without you!!
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1 to 5 pm. Words of reflection and blessings of her life at 2:00. To watch the livestream of the reflections and blessings go to YouTube and search "Barkerfh Joan Garland" starting at 1:55 pm.
