Jonathan Daniel Massicotte

April 18, 1987 - August 30, 2025

It is with very heavy hearts that Terry (née Feres) and Daniel Massicotte share the loss of their beloved son, Jonathan, who passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital. Predeceased by loving grandparents Sheila and Vincent Feres, and Shirley and Rocky Massicotte, Jonathan has gained angel wings and joins many family and friends in Heaven. He is mourned by the extended Feres and Massicotte families, many aunts, uncles, cousins, caregivers, and friends. He was our “special boy”. Despite immense challenges, Jonathan taught those around him the true meaning of strength and perseverance. He defied medical expectations, blessing his family with over 38 treasured years. Though dependent on his parents and caregivers, Jonathan could be depended on to be gentle, good-humoured, patient, and he never complained! He loved music, watching movies, and cheering for the Ottawa Senators and Redblacks, accompanied by his puppy Gracie.  His smile, his spirit, and his quiet courage left an imprint on all who knew him. Jonathan leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and strength. Terry and Dan wish to thank the staff of the Ottawa General Hospital, and especially his caregivers Adeus, Tegene, Amy, and Kristine; his nurses Tanya and Ida; and the many caring workers who supported him over the years. You were all part of Jonathan’s loving family. Visitation will be held at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 44 Rothesay Dr., Kanata, Ontario, on Thursday, September 11th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 a.m.. The funeral mass will be live-streamed at Livestream - Holy Redeemer In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Rotary Home and the Stittsville Food Bank would be appreciated.
