Kenneth James Hastie

Kenneth Hastie, aged 84, passed away peacefully in hospital, surrounded by his family, on September 16 th 2024. Devoted husband to Rena (nee Little) and would have celebrated his 63 wedding anniversary in November.

He was a loving father to Angie Hastie (Gary Leach) and Lynn Card (Shaun Card). Ken was predeceased by his parents, Ozzie and Norma Hastie and brother Gerald. He is survived by his sibling Stanley Hastie (Elizabeth). Ken was a loving grandfather to Kristen Jardine (Ryan), Taryn Card (Schuyleur Seccaspina), Dylan Card (Naiara Pedro Tatay), and Mitchell Brydges (Maddie Symington). Ken adored and enjoyed his visits with his great grandchildren Tenley, Elia, Avery, Emmerson, Hudson, Oliver, and Dayami, and was excited for the arrival of a new great granddaughter in December.
 

Ken was a member of the Presbyterian Church for over 70 years. His passion was singing and sang in the choir for most of those years. He was a member of both the Mississippi Golf Club and Carleton Place Curling Club for many years.
 

A celebration of life will be held at the United Cemeteries, Cemetery Sideroad, Carleton Place on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11am, followed by a reception at 33 Victoria Street, Carleton Place.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Lung Association, would be appreciated.
