Kim Cruikshank, aged 65, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2023, after a courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be held dear by her family and friends. Kim is survived by her devoted husband, David Cruikshank and her loving son, Jason Cruikshank (Ann). She will be missed by her two beautiful granddaughters, Ava and Haylee, who held a special place in her heart, and they will forever treasure the moments they shared with their beloved grandmother. Kim is also survived by her three sisters Sherry Roberts (Wayne), Nancy Beaudoin, and Tanis Cordick (Pat). She was predeceased by her parents, Oscar Beaudoin and Marjorie Beaudoin. Her extended family, including nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, great-nieces, and great-nephews, will always hold her close in their hearts. Kim will be greatly missed by her friends, including those she cherished from the Capital Corvette Club of Ottawa.
Kim will be remembered for her infectious smile and laugh, which was always present even throughout her terrible illness. Kim was a woman of diverse interests. She had a passion for travel, which allowed her to explore the world and create lasting memories with her loved ones. Her creative spirit shone through her beautiful stained glass artwork, a testament to her artistic talents. Kim also found joy in tending to her flower gardens, where she nurtured the beauty of nature.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the Personal Support Workers (PSWs), Nurses and Doctors who provided unwavering support and care throughout Kim’s journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Kim’s honour to be made to the Parkinson Research Consortium, as she would have wanted to contribute to finding a cure for this challenging disease.
Visitation will be held at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home,19 McArthur Ave, Carleton Place, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. on Monday, September 11, 2023. A funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment at the United Cemeteries. In honour of Kim’s memory, a reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 192, located at 177 George St, Carleton Place from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It will be a time to share stories, celebrate her life, and find solace in the embrace of family and friends.
Kim Cruikshank’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her spirit of adventure, creativity, and love will be a source of inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
