Larry Aitkenhead Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Aitkenhead, age 67, of Carleton Place, passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 following a very brief battle with cancer.

Larry is remembered by his loving spouse, Joy Roberts and family Gerry (Rebecca) Scharfe and Diana (Chad) Nield, Leeanne Logan, and Mykall (Corey) Logan. He was a proud and loving Papa of Brooklyn, Keegan, Cameron, Nathan, Brennan, Halle, Travis, Jack, and Ray.

He was a cherished brother of Kenny (Jerry) Southwell, Bill Southwell, Millie (Randy) Rivington, Robbie Aitkenhead (Marianne), and Candy Aitkenhead (Al), and equally missed by his many brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cherished best friend Robert Rowsell.  He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Robert and Elva Aitkenhead.

After years of working as a tow truck driver, Larry enjoyed many adventures during retirement.  He was passionate in everything he did, fiercely loyal, and loved deeply.  His stories and teachings - often comical, always heartfelt - will live on through those who knew him best.  Larry will forever be remembered for his voice, his wisdom, his unmistakable humour and wit.
