It is with love and sadness that we share the passing of Laura Kathleen Soper, who left us peacefully on the evening of October 7, 2025, with family by her side. She was born October 30, 1989, the loving daughter of Al and Kathy Soper.

Laura is survived by her sister Megan, brother-in-law Geordie, and her two nieces Georgia and Frankie who she loved very much. Laura will be missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

She will be remembered for her many talents like crocheting, drawing, gardening and yoga and for her infectious laugh and determination. The family cottage on Blue Sea Lake held a special place in her heart.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home (19 McArthur Ave. Carleton Place) on Saturday November 8, from 2:00 until 4:30 p.m. with words of remembrance from the family at 3:00 p.m.

Laura fought a long battle with mental health and an eating disorder. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to organizations supporting mental health awareness and eating disorder recovery, such as the National Eating Disorder Information Centre (NEDIC) or CAMH, in Laura’s memory.
