Leonard Patrick Brady
April 26, 1955 – December 31, 2025
Leonard Patrick Brady fondly known as “Len” passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025 in his 71st year after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Len will be deeply missed by his loving wife Debbie (Scott/Bigras) and stepsons, Richard (Angela), Steven (Laura), Jeffrey (Cara) and Michael (Nicole). He was the cherished “Poppa Len” to Cameron, Emma, Jeremy, Asher, Serena, Carter, Chloe, Avery and Korbin.
He is survived by his siblings Mona Fahey (late Joe) – Florida, Michael Brady (Barbara) – Perth, Agnes McVeety (Jim) – Perth, Mary Ann Maxwell (Gord) – Kingston as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brothers Grant and Dennis and his parents Kay and Jim Brady.
He also leaves behind Debbie’s family – her sister Christine (Glen) Sample and brother Pat Bigras (Debbie).
Len was a very laid back, gentle individual who took on a ready-made family without hesitation! He especially loved every one of his grandkids and was always eager to attend sports events, take them out on the pontoon boat, fishing, swimming, etc. He was keen to follow any sports activity they were a part of – boasting their performances to family and friends!! Len enjoyed all the simple things in life but was especially happy when he got his brand new “Goldwing” and he and Debbie drove to Alaska with their trusty little tent trailer on behind, in the summer of 2003. They stopped at many scenic places and visited relatives and old friends along the way!
Len had a great sense of humor and positive attitude even until his dying days. He had various jobs including retail and long-distance truck driving. He loved boating and fishing on Dalhousie Lake and spent many hours making rinks for the grandkids. He loved to curl, play cards, shuffleboard and enjoyed family get-togethers and breakfast meetings with the G&G club.
He will be remembered by all as a kindhearted soul who loved his family and was always eager to join in on the fun (no matter how crazy it got!)
Funeral Mass will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Carleton Place, on Monday January 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at Captain A. Roy Brown, Branch 192 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Carleton Place. For those who wish, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Carleton Place Curling Club, would be appreciated by the family.
Rest in Peace “Leonard, you are so loved!
A special thank you to Taralyn Buchanan from Bayshore, Sydney Thompson (Hospice) and Dr. Oh. Also, thanks to Angie Thomas and Allie Burgess, (two very special nieces) who were always there to help and cheer on their “Uncle Lennie”.
