Lionel "Leo" Loranger Obituary

With sadness, we announce the passing of Lionel (Leo) Joseph Loranger who departed this life in his 85th year on May 17, 2024. Leo was born to Philippe and Ermine Loranger on October 31, 1939. He married Joan Loranger on February 14, 1995. Leo passed doing what he loved the most by working in his yard with his wife, Joan, stepdaughter Natalie and her husband Robert. Known for his green thumb and love for gardening, he found solace in nurturing nature’s beauty. His kindness knew no bounds, as he dedicated his days to helping those in
need, leaving a mark of compassion on all who knew him. He is survived by children Serge, Daniel, Luc and Susie (R.J. Partington) and stepchildren Lynne Loranger and Natalie (Robert) Young. Cherished Grandpa of Yannick, Alex, Luc, Gabrielle, Melanie (James), Jeremy, Kaitlyn (Christopher), Tyler (Kelsey). Proud Great-Grandpa to James, Jonathon, Shawn, Tyler and Amelia. He is survived by his sister Jeannine, brothers Henri Paul (Colette), Robert, Normand (Jacqueline), Gilbert (Lorraine), and sisters-in-law Annette and Odette. Forever remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Though he may have left this world, his legacy of love and generosity will continue to bloom in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31st at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 28 Hawthorne Avenue, Carleton Place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon to follow.
