Louise Ann Jeays
1943 - 2025
In loving memory of Louise Ann Jeays (nee Mellanby), age 81, who died peacefully at home on June 20th, 2025. Survived by her husband Mike, son Fraser Macdonald (Yvonne), grandsons, Alex, Liam and Connor, brother Jim (Margaret) (Marie) and stepson Mark. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Laura (Brian), Scott (Sue), Nathalie (David) Shawna (Mark), and former daughter- in-law Tracey. Predeceased by parents Edgar and Marie Mellanby, son David and brother Ralph (Gillian) (Janet).
Louise was born in Hamilton, Ontario and spent her early years in Essex before settling in Ottawa in 1977. There she met Mike in 1990, and they were married in 1993. She graduated as a nurse at Grace Hospital in Windsor, and spent her working life caring for others. Her final 14 nursing years were at the Royal Ottawa Hospital. After retirement, Louise and Mike moved to Carleton Place. Louise chaired an Al-Anon group in Ottawa, and was a proud member of the Carleton Place Rotary Club for several years. Louise will be remembered for, among other things, her thoughtfulness, sense of humour, having the courage to speak her mind, and her loyalty to her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, ON, on Saturday July 19th 2025, from 2 to 4p.m.
