Louise Diane Lavoie-MacCuaig , 75, recently of Carleton Place, Ontario has passed away on July 18th, 2024, at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital.

Louise was born on June 28, 1949 to the late Joseph-Édouard Lavoie and Elizabeth Tremblay in La Baie, Quebec. In 1975, Louise met military man Steve MacCuaig while he was stationed in Bagotville, Quebec. They married in 1976 and welcomed their greatly anticipated son, Dominic in 1978. Their beloved daughter arrived in 1980 while stationed in Lahr, Germany. Louise loved her time in Germany and that is where she learned to speak English.

Louise landed back in Canada in 1983 where she started her long career with the Becker’s/Mac’s Milk Convenience Stores. First in Kemptville, then briefly in Smiths Falls and finally retiring in 2019 in Carleton Place. Her customers will remember her for her feisty nature and the accent she never lost.

Louise was predeceased by her brothers, Bertrand and Bruno and also her sister Suzanne. She is survived by her siblings; Doris, Antoine-Marie, Johanne, Renée, Michelle, Isabelle and Gaétan, along with their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews. Also her grandchildren; Jordan Hunter, Jade Hunter and Karrson MacCuaig.

There will be no service but a Celebration of Life will be organized by her children, Dominic (Michelle) and Jennifer (Dylan) around Thanksgiving.
