Lynda Margaret Lewis

It is with great and heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Lynda Margaret
Lewis (née Henderson) on March 26th, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born in
Oshawa, Ontario on October 9th, 1946, to parents William Currie and Margaret Alma
Henderson. She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers Gregg and Scott
Henderson. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband Harold Wayne Lewis
and is survived by her sons Douglas William Kay and John Cameron Kay and their
respective spouses Minako and Erin Jennie Kay. She also leaves behind her beloved
grandchildren Isla Marilyn and Georgia Eva Kay in addition to her stepchildren Shannon
Scott and Allison El-Batal and step grandchildren Hanna Scott and Rayanne El-Batal.
Lynda attended Holy Cross Catholic School and Central Collegiate Institute and was
later a graduate from the University of Toronto where she earned her Master’s in
Education. Lynda had a long and vibrant career in Oshawa, Ontario where she served
as a public school educator for over 20 years at Ritson Public School and later at
Hillsdale Public School. Throughout her long and successful career, she was a music
enthusiast and served as a pianist for her public school choirs. Upon retirement, she
continued to contribute to her community as a supply teacher in the Lanark County
District. Lynda will be sadly missed by her wonderful friends and family.

A Celebration of Life for Lynda will be held at the Thirsty Moose Pub and Eatery, 20 Bridge

Street, Carleton Place on April 11th, 2025, from 7-9 pm. Donations to the Carleton Place and

District Memorial Hospital Foundation in her name would be greatly appreciated.
