Marianne Purdy (Schneider)
Born in Ingolstadt, Germany August 8,1933, Marianne immigrated to Canada as a young lady (on her own) in 1956 to Windsor, Ontario, There she met her husband Harry Purdy, and were soon off to the many adventures endured; as being a military wife, she moved across the ocean 6 times with NATO, and numerous times across Canada. Upon retirement from the military, they settled in Harry’s hometown of Carleton Place. Here, she made many friends and was involved with the United Church Ladies Auxiliary, Red Hats Society and Tai chi .She also did “Bauernmalerei” Tole Painting and became quite renowned for it.
Marianne will be forever missed by her daughter Leslie Manchur (Grant), sons Christopher Purdy and Richard Purdy (Linda). Her grandchildren, Dylan Purdy, Tyler Manchur, Jennifer Purdy and Tasha Fischman, great grandchildren, Ava, Alexis, and Annika Manchur, Rex and Benny Purdy. Also survived by several nieces and nephews out east.
A private family service will be held.
