Marion Taylor
Passed away peacefully, on Monday, August 7, 2023 at the wonderful age of 99.
Marion was born on May 2, 1924 in Alwalton, Huntingdonshire, England. She was the loving daughter of Frank and Mary Anniss. Predeceased by her loving husband of 41 years William James Taylor and her sister Jean Ruck.
Marion became a member of the WAAF in England during WWII from 1939 - 1945. While serving she met her handsome husband William (Bill) Taylor who proposed through the mail due to being stationed back in Canada. She travelled from England to Canada on a ship named the Scythia arriving in Halifax Nova Scotia on October 31,1946 which meant many Canadians were celebrating Halloween running around in costumes and masks. She thought everyone had lost their mind.
She was married in Hamilton, Ontario on November 30, 1946 where their adventure began.
She will be sadly missed by her three children, Paul (Judy), Martin (Sheri) and Cheryl (Ron), her four grandchildren, Jesse, Shawn, Cody & Courtney (Nate) and two great grandchildren Logan and Isabella.
Marion will be greatly missed by her family in Canada and England, many friends she has met throughout her life especially her aerobics family.
She will be sadly missed but forever in our hearts.
A private celebration of life will be held in Marion's honour. A donation to the Humane Society, Birds Canada or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Many thanks to the caring nurses and doctors at the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care of our mother.
